IAW Carbon – Front Bumper Canards – BMW M5 G90/99 – Glossy Prepreg Carbon Fiber

The IAW Carbon Front Bumper Canards are dry carbon fiber corner blades for the BMW G90 M5 sedan and G99 M5 Touring. They are the smallest change on the car with the largest change in attitude: a pair of blades at the outer bumper corners sharpens the front end and reads as track intent without altering the rest of the bodywork. They work on their own and they work as the finishing detail on a car already running our carbon front lip.

Dry Carbon Fiber Construction

Every piece is produced from genuine pre-preg dry carbon fiber and cured under controlled heat and pressure. Compared to wet-layup carbon or carbon overlays, pre-preg construction delivers a tighter and more consistent twill weave, a superior strength-to-weight ratio, and a part that holds its shape under heat and daily road use. The surface is sealed in a UV-stable gloss clear coat so the weave stays deep and dark rather than yellowing or hazing within the first couple of seasons, which is a common failure point on lower-cost imported carbon fiber body kits.

Installation

The piece is molded around the factory G90 bodywork and locates on existing mounting points. No cutting, drilling, or permanent modification is required, and it can be removed later if the vehicle is returned to stock.

Installation is straightforward for an experienced installer, but carbon fiber is unforgiving of a rushed job. We recommend professional installation, and we always recommend test-fitting the panel and cleaning the mounting surface thoroughly before removing any adhesive backing.

Care and Maintenance

Hand wash only, and avoid abrasive polishes and high-pressure spray directly at the panel edges. For long-term protection, a ceramic coating or paint protection film over the clear coat will further guard against UV exposure and road debris.

Can I run these with the front lip?
Yes. The canards mount at the outer bumper corners and are designed to work alongside both our MP Style and Competition Style front lips.

Is this real carbon fiber or a carbon overlay?
This is genuine pre-preg dry carbon fiber throughout, not a plastic part with a carbon overlay or hydro-dipped finish.

Will the carbon fiber turn yellow over time?
The UV-stable clear coat is there specifically to prevent that. Wet-layup carbon and overlays commonly yellow within one to two years; pre-preg carbon under a proper clear coat does not.
