IAW Carbon – Engine Cover – BMW M5 G90/99 – Glossy Prepreg Carbon Fiber

The IAW Carbon Engine Cover is a dry carbon fiber replacement for the factory cover over the S68 V8 in the BMW G90 M5 sedan and G99 M5 Touring. It is the centerpiece of an underhood build: the largest single surface under the hood, in real weave, sitting directly on top of the engine that defines the car.

Dry Carbon Fiber Construction

Every piece is produced from genuine pre-preg dry carbon fiber and cured under controlled heat and pressure. Compared to wet-layup carbon or carbon overlays, pre-preg construction delivers a tighter and more consistent twill weave, a superior strength-to-weight ratio, and a part that holds its shape under heat and daily road use. The surface is sealed in a UV-stable gloss clear coat so the weave stays deep and dark rather than yellowing or hazing within the first couple of seasons, which is a common failure point on lower-cost imported carbon fiber body kits.

Installation

The carbon cover replaces the factory engine cover using the original mounting points. No cutting, drilling, or permanent modification is required, and the factory cover can be refitted at any time.

Care and Maintenance

Hand wash only, and avoid abrasive polishes and high-pressure spray directly at the panel edges. For long-term protection, a ceramic coating or paint protection film over the clear coat will further guard against UV exposure and road debris.
