IAW Carbon – Cooling Shroud – BMW M5 G90/99 – Glossy Prepreg Carbon Fiber

The IAW Carbon Cooling Shroud replaces the factory shroud across the front of the engine bay on the BMW G90 M5 sedan and G99 M5 Touring. It is the piece you see first when the hood comes up, and swapping it for real weave is what stops an underhood build looking half-finished. It completes the set alongside our carbon engine cover and engine bay side covers.

Dry Carbon Fiber Construction

Every piece is produced from genuine pre-preg dry carbon fiber and cured under controlled heat and pressure. Compared to wet-layup carbon or carbon overlays, pre-preg construction delivers a tighter and more consistent twill weave, a superior strength-to-weight ratio, and a part that holds its shape under heat and daily road use. The surface is sealed in a UV-stable gloss clear coat so the weave stays deep and dark rather than yellowing or hazing within the first couple of seasons, which is a common failure point on lower-cost imported carbon fiber body kits.

Installation

The shroud replaces the factory panel using the original mounting locations. No cutting, drilling, or permanent modification is required, and the factory shroud can be refitted at any time.

Fitting is straightforward and well within reach of most owners with basic tools.

Care and Maintenance

Hand wash only, and avoid abrasive polishes and high-pressure spray directly at the panel edges. For long-term protection, a ceramic coating or paint protection film over the clear coat will further guard against UV exposure and road debris.

Yes. The G90 sedan and G99 Touring share this bodywork, so this piece fits both.

Is this a cosmetic part or does it change cooling?
It is a direct replacement for the factory shroud in the same position, so it serves the same function. The change is in the finish.

Is this real carbon fiber or a carbon overlay?
This is genuine pre-preg dry carbon fiber throughout, not a plastic part with a carbon overlay or hydro-dipped finish.

Will the carbon fiber turn yellow over time?
The UV-stable clear coat is there specifically to prevent that. Wet-layup carbon and overlays commonly yellow within one to two years; pre-preg carbon under a proper clear coat does not.
