IAW Carbon – Competition Style Side Skirts – BMW M5 G90/99 – Glossy Prepreg Carbon Fiber

The IAW Carbon Competition Style Side Skirts are dry carbon fiber rocker extensions for the BMW G90 M5 sedan and G99 M5 Touring. They sit lower and carry a deeper blade than our MP Style skirts, pulling the visual mass of the car toward the ground and giving it the planted, track-inspired stance the Competition look is known for. They pair cleanly with our matching Competition front lip and diffuser for a cohesive build.

Dry Carbon Fiber Construction

Every piece is produced from genuine pre-preg dry carbon fiber and cured under controlled heat and pressure. Compared to wet-layup carbon or carbon overlays, pre-preg construction delivers a tighter and more consistent twill weave, a superior strength-to-weight ratio, and a part that holds its shape under heat and daily road use. The surface is sealed in a UV-stable gloss clear coat so the weave stays deep and dark rather than yellowing or hazing within the first couple of seasons, which is a common failure point on lower-cost imported carbon fiber body kits.

Installation

The piece is molded around the factory G90 bodywork and locates on existing mounting points. No cutting, drilling, or permanent modification is required, and it can be removed later if the vehicle is returned to stock.

Installation is straightforward for an experienced installer, but carbon fiber is unforgiving of a rushed job. We recommend professional installation, and we always recommend test-fitting the panel and cleaning the mounting surface thoroughly before removing any adhesive backing.

Will the carbon fiber turn yellow over time?
The UV-stable clear coat is there specifically to prevent that. Wet-layup carbon and overlays commonly yellow within one to two years; pre-preg carbon under a proper clear coat does not.
