IAW Carbon – Rear Bumper Reflector Delete Covers – BMW M5 G90/99 – Glossy Prepreg Carbon Fiber

The IAW Carbon Rear Bumper Reflector Delete Covers replace the factory reflector panels in the rear bumper of the BMW G90 M5 sedan and G99 M5 Touring with dry carbon fiber. They are a small detail that does a disproportionate amount of work: the factory reflectors are one of the last pieces of plain plastic left on an otherwise finished rear end, and swapping them for real weave is what ties the bumper together with a carbon diffuser above them.

Important: Reflector Delete

These covers replace the factory rear reflectors entirely. They are solid carbon fiber panels and do not incorporate a reflective element.

Rear side reflex reflectors are required equipment on public roads in the United States under FMVSS 108, and equivalent requirements apply in most other markets. A vehicle fitted with these covers may not meet those requirements and could fail a safety or state inspection. We supply these for show, track, and off-road use. Please check the rules that apply where you drive before ordering, and keep your factory panels so the car can be returned to stock.

Dry Carbon Fiber Construction

Every piece is produced from genuine pre-preg dry carbon fiber and cured under controlled heat and pressure. Compared to wet-layup carbon or carbon overlays, pre-preg construction delivers a tighter and more consistent twill weave, a superior strength-to-weight ratio, and a part that holds its shape under heat and daily road use. The surface is sealed in a UV-stable gloss clear coat so the weave stays deep and dark rather than yellowing or hazing within the first couple of seasons, which is a common failure point on lower-cost imported carbon fiber body kits.

Installation

The covers replace the factory reflector panels using the original mounting locations. No cutting, drilling, or permanent modification is required, and the factory panels can be refitted at any time.

Fitting is straightforward and well within reach of most owners with basic tools, though care is worth taking around the bumper paint. Test-fit each side before committing.

Hand wash only, and avoid abrasive polishes and high-pressure spray directly at the panel edges. These sit low on the rear bumper where road spray collects, so a ceramic coating or paint protection film over the clear coat is worth considering for long-term protection.
